Sam
Sam Carter – Trainee Front-End Developer
Background:
Sam joined our team at Hot Beans after graduating from the University of Portsmouth with a degree in Computer Science. With a talented eye for design and detail, Sam is passionate about building smooth, visually engaging user interfaces that enhance user experiences.
Qualifications:
- BSc Computer Science, University of Manchester
- Certificate in Responsive Web Design (freeCodeCamp)
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React

A Day in the Life:
Sam commences his day by joining the daily stand-up with the front-end team. He spends most mornings working on implementing new UI components using React and Tailwind CSS. He then enjoys his lunch break, here at Hot Beans we make sure you get plenty of breaks whilst you are working hard! After lunch, he often collaborates with designers to bring mock-ups to life, tests responsive layouts across devices, and reviews pull requests from colleagues. He wraps up his day by pushing clean, tested code to the shared repository.
Priya
Priya Kaur – Trainee Full-Stack Developer
Background:
Priya made a bold career shift from biomedical sciences to tech, retraining through an intensive full-stack bootcamp. Her analytical thinking and drive have made her an invaluable asset to the Hot Beans development team.

A Day in the Life:
Priya’s day usually starts by addressing back-end tickets—debugging APIs, refining database queries, or building new endpoints using Node.js and Express. She often syncs with the front-end team to ensure seamless integration. Her afternoons include collaborative coding sessions, writing unit tests, and contributing to team discussions on upcoming project features. Priya’s work never fails to amaze us as we recognise the hard work she contributes towards the company.
Jordan
Jordan Lewis – Trainee Mobile Developer
Background:
Jordan came to Hot Beans straight after having graduated from university of Nottingham with a Software Engineering degree and a keen interest in mobile development. He has always been passionate for technological studies and his passion drives him here today to help enhance our wonderful team even further. He’s currently helping expand our mobile capabilities with intuitive and high-performing apps.

- Experienced in Kotlin, Java, Flutter, Firebase

A Day in the Life:
Jordan starts his morning by reviewing feedback and crash logs from the latest test build of a client app. He then refines UI elements in Flutter and updates back-end connections using Firebase. After lunch, he attends sprint planning meetings, conducts device testing, and works closely with designers to polish app flows. He ends the day syncing code and writing documentation for the next deployment.
